The final IRay Render after adjusting some base colors, roughness, and opacity settings. I also added some subtle wear to the leather portion handle near the bottom, as well as the choke of the wood.
Week 3 and I am loving how this is coming along. I still have some way to go with the opacity of my hair hards for the fur lining, but I am pretty sure I can figure that out in the next couple days.
After modeling the high-res head and bolts, and making the low-res variation, I have backed maps in Substance here. I am noticing some pinching that will need to be adjusted before I actually start to paint, but overall it is turning out quite nicely.
Week one's high-resolution of the handle. There could be some adjustments to the shape of it as I am noticing the wooden parts to be a bit long as I tumble it in SketchFab.
This is a war axe model I did this month in class. I'm surprised with myself how well it turned out in the end. The high resolution sculpting in Maya was surprisingly easy for me, and painting was a breeze, even if it still took me some time. It was mostly the subtle opacity that caused me problems this month, as I had never really worked with it before and was having to learn on the fly. I think it turned out well, but I want to come back to this concept and play with it more later on so I can understand it better.
